Blast Mobile Bar Hire is owned and operated by Josh Hignell, it is ran from Blast Event Hire’s 13,000sq ft warehouse on Dixon Road, Brislington, Bristol.
After Josh entered the mobile bar industry in 2007 and enjoyed relative levels of success supplying mobile bars for birthdays, weddings and corporate events in and around Bristol; he witnessed first hand the demand in the market and potential in expanding the business to cover every other aspect of the event industry, from the planning and organising, through to supplying and installing every single item required for an event.
Further research into the possibility of expanding fully into the market was done and, after extensive analysis, a decision was made to create a brand new event hire organisation; Blast Event Hire was born. Starting out just offering the furniture, crockery and cutlery to customers with bookings already in place for the bars, Blast soon developed a reputation as a company that could deliver a large range of high quality products with unparalleled level of service and at a competitive price.
Further word of mouth and recommendations soon led to more orders; more orders to new staff, vehicles and equipment; and, finally, to two premises, both complete with warehouses. Now operating primarily from our 13,000sq ft new warehouse, and with national customers including BP, Lloyds Banking Group and Hilton Hotel Group to more local customers such as Bristol Grammar School, Imperial Tobacco, and Pieminister, Blast has firmly established itself within a market notoriously difficult to enter.
Since being established in 2012, Blast Event Hire has gone from strength to strength, to become one of the leading event hire companies in the South West, with a high profile clientele and ever growing reputation. In 2016 Josh began to concentrate on going back to his roots and to continue not only to offer a selection of mobile bars for various events but also expand in the market, offering festival bars, round LED bars, cocktail bars, Mixologists with innovative and exciting new cocktails and more.

- At Blast, we will always aim to use proper glassware wherever possible. If plastic glassware is necessary, we will source recycled plastics and will then recycle this after use.
- We always tend to use ice in cool boxes when possible, to save us from having to draw power for our fridges.
- All fridges that we do use have low energy lightbulbs.
- We collect all glass bottles throughout the duration of the event and during the clear down, which we will then go and recycle the next day.
